Donate a Dollar a Week Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you subscribe to our micro-donation platform or use our website. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. Information We Collect

To manage our giving circle subscriptions and issue ATO-compliant Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) tax receipts, we collect personal information, including:

  • Identity Details: Full name, which is legally required to compile your tax receipts.
  • Contact Details: Email address (for confirmations and consolidated receipts) and mobile number (optional, for voting reminders).
  • Financial Information: Payment card details. *Please note: card numbers are processed directly and securely via Stripe. We do not store full card digits or CVVs on our servers.*

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for operation of the giving circle:

  • Processing your weekly $1 micro-donation.
  • Sending you an annual, consolidated tax receipt on June 30.
  • Issuing email invites to vote on the monthly charity projects.
  • Providing you with Proof of Impact updates showing where grants were spent.

3. Data Security and Sharing

We implement industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to secure all communications. Your credit card information is encrypted and transmitted directly to Stripe, our payment gateway, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant.

We will **never** sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not share donor lists with the charities that win our grants; all grant distributions are made anonymously in bulk.

4. Accessing and Updating Your Details

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you or request updates by emailing our donor care team at privacy@donateadollaraweek.org. You can cancel or pause your weekly subscription at any time via your donor portal dashboard.
